Garbage Services – Mayne Island   
 
I’m writing on behalf of the Mayne Island Local Trust Committee (LTC) regarding garbage collection on 
Mayne Island.     
 
As you are aware in the past garbage collection has been carried out by a number of different 
individuals who sometimes provided service in the form of residential pick-up, drop off locations, or 
both.  The LTC would like to see the service put in place in a formal manner. 
 
Being that Mayne Island Improvement District (MIID) has the authority to provide for garbage service on 
Mayne Island the LTC is requesting that the MIID turn its mind to how garbage collection should be 
carried out in the future and devise a solution that provides Mayne Island with a long term sustainable 
garbage service. 
  
The LTC will provide any assistance it can in helping to reach a workable solution.
