How this private project handles personal information.

Tony Aly privately operates this site and is responsible for the personal information it collects. Questions, access requests, corrections, consent withdrawals, and deletion requests can be sent to privacy@abolishislandstrust.org.

What is collected

A petition submission can include a name, email address, island or area, statement, public-display choice, and optional consent to receive updates. An account can include a username, display name, email address, and securely processed password. Ordinary server logs may record technical request information.

Why it is collected

Information is used to administer the petition, prevent abuse, allow changes or removal, operate accounts and discussions, respond to requests, secure the site, and send updates only when optional consent is given. It is not sold.

Public display

A petition name, area, and statement are public only when the signer chooses public display. Email addresses, management links, account credentials, and private submissions are not intentionally published.

Access, withdrawal, and retention

The private management link allows a signer to update or remove a signature. The privacy contact can also be used to request access, correction, withdrawal of optional email consent, or deletion. Information is retained only while reasonably needed for these purposes, legal obligations, security, and documented aggregate counts.

Service providers and safeguards

Hosting, database, email, security, and analytics providers may process limited information to operate the service. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet system can promise absolute security.
