SEPTEMBER 2019 ISLANDS TRUST COUNCIL PROGRAM ANNOUNCED 
Lekwungen territory, Victoria – The Islands Trust Council invites members of the public to observe and participate in its 
next quarterly business meeting September 17-18, 2019. The meeting is being held on Bowen Island in Skwxwú7mesh 
Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and Tsleil-Waututh Nation territory.  The meeting venue is the Bowen Island Lodge, 380 
Cardena Street. 
 
Members of the community are encouraged to attend a delegation & town hall session on Tuesday, September 17, 
starting at 1:30 p.m. Designed to promote dialogue between islanders and trustees, the session is an opportunity for the 
public to ask questions and make suggestions about the work of Trust Council. Trust Council welcomes input about how 
the Islands Trust can improve on delivery of its mandate.  
 
Persons or organizations wishing to make a formal delegation are asked to send their request in writing at least three (3) 
weeks before the meeting. The topic, speaker’s name, and contact information must be sent to Lori Foster (email: 
lfoster@islandstrust.bc.ca) by Wednesday, August 28. Guidelines for presentations to Council can be viewed online here:

The meeting schedule and agenda package will be posted to the Islands Trust website calendar by September 6th. 
 
ISLANDS 2050 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SESSION 
Islands 2050 is Trust Council’s initiative to modernize its guiding document through public and First Nations engagement.  
We want to hear your stories, thoughts and ideas about what you value about the Trust Area.  We are hosting an open 
house on Bowen Island to discuss the future of the Trust Area.  Information will be presented covering a range of topics 
such as climate change, ecosystem protection, and trends within island communities .
