Minutes of Regular Meeting

Members Present:    Tobi Elliott, Chair  
                        Timothy Peterson, Local Trustee  
                        Mikaila Lironi, Local Trustee  

Staff Present:        Renee Jamurat, Regional Planning Manager (electronic)  
                        Marlis McCargar, Island Planner (electronic)  
                        Joe Elliott, Senior Indigenous Advisor (electronic)  
                        Clare Frater, Director Trust Area Services (electronic)  
                        Dede MacLean, Office Administrative Assistant (electronic)  
                        Lisa Millard, Meeting Administrator/Recorder (electronic)  

Others Present:     There were approximately 11 members of the public in attendance.

1.  CALL TO ORDER  

Chair Elliott called the meeting to order at 11:03 a.m. and spoke to the importance of meeting protocol, respectful interactions, the role of the meeting Chair, and importance of ensuring a culturally safe space for all voices to be heard.

2.  TERRITORIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT  

Chair Elliott acknowledged that the meeting was held on the territory of the Coast Salish First Nations.

3.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA  

The following additions to the agenda were presented for consideration:  

12.1   Community Stewardship Award Event  
12.2   Request For Information Re: Coordination Agreements  

By general consent, the agenda was adopted as amended.

4.  REPORTS  

4.1  Trustee Reports  

Trustee Lironi reported on the success of Lasqueti Arts Fest and reflected on her term as a Trustee.

Trustee Peterson reported the following:  
• Meeting highlights from the June Trust Council quarterly meeting;

- Lasqueti resident Sheila Harrington was the recipient of an Islands Trust Community Stewardship award;
- Attendance at Executive Committee, Trust Programs Committee, Committee of the Whole, Financial Planning Committee, Onboarding Working Group, and CAO Performance Evaluation Committee meetings;
- Attendance at Snaw-naw-as First Nations Council meeting as a delegation to present an overview of how Islands Trust works;
- Attendance at the Southern Gulf Island Forum cross border forum, BC Municipal Climate Leaders Caucus meeting, and Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region Roundtable gathering.

4.2 Chair’s Report

Chair Elliott reported the following:
- Attendance at the June Trust Council meeting and highlighted the review of engagement feedback regarding the Trust Policy Statement, work on the Trust Policy Statement Comp
