A  BY-LAW  TO  DIVIDE  THE  OUTER  GULF  ISLANDS  ELECTORAL  AREA  OF  THE  CAPITAL 
REGIONAL  DISTRICT  INTO  ZONES  AND  TO  REGULATE  THE  USE  OF  LAND,  INCLUDING 
THE   SURFACE   OF   WATER   AND   THE   LOCATION,   SIZE   AND   USE   OF   BUILDINGS, 
PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ACT, HAVING DUE REGARD TO THE CONSIDERATIONS 
SET OUT IN SECTION 702(2) THEREOF INCLUDING THE RESIDENTS' WAY OF LIFE AND 
THE PRESERVATION OF THE ISLANDS AMENITIES

 The Board of the Capital Regional District in open 
 meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 
 
 
 PART 1 
 
 SHORT TITLE 
 
1.1 Zoning By-law, Planning area No. 4, 1972. 
 
 
 PART 2 
 
 DEFINITIONS 
 
2.1 "Building"  means  any  structure  (including  a  mobile  home)  which  is  attached  to  a 
permanent  a  permanent  foundation  embedded  in  the  ground  and  which  is  used  or 
intended to be used for the shelter, habitation, accommodation, assembly or storage of 
persons, animals, goods or chattels. 
 
"Dwelling, one-family" means any building consisting of one self- contained dwelling 
unit. 
 
"Dwelling, two-family" means any building consisting of two self- contained dwelling 
units. 
 
"Dwelling, multiple family" means any building consisting of three or more self-contained 
dwelling units.
