LTC received an update on the Complete Communities Assessment, considered of a number of development applications, a report on work program management and spending, and updates from elected officials. Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee considered the following development applications: o Gave three readings to an application rezone the former Seabreeze Inn site (101 Bittencourt Road) to allow for multifamily use, and forwarded the application to the Executive Committee to be reviewed at their next meeting on February 26, 2025 (file PLRZ20240251) o Approved issuance of Temporary Use Permit at the former Phoenix School Site (163 Drake Road ) to allow for a temporary parks and recreation maintenance facility for a period of two (2) years, during which time CRD intends to construct a new facility at its current site on Kanaka Road (file PLRTUP20240296) o 210 & 220 Kanaka Road, SSI – Received a preliminary report for an application to allow for redevelopment of the CRD Parks Maintenance Facility at 210 & 220 Kanaka Road. LTC requested that staff prepare a draft bylaw to amend the Land Use Bylaw and refer the application to the Advisory Planning Commission, Agricultural Land Commission, area First Nations and other applicable agencies to seek input. (file PLRZ20240188) o LTC accepted a covenant and authorized the chair to sign the covenant to fulfill a condition of a subdivision application at Lot 28 Welbury Drive (file SS-SUB-2021.7). o Accepted a covenant and authorized the chair to sign the covenant to fulfil a subdivision application conditions at 536 Beaver Point Road (file SS-SUB-2021.1). o Advised the North Pender Island Local Trust Committee that interests are unaffected by North Pender Island Local Trust Committee Proposed Bylaw No 235 in response to a referral (file 6500-20-Raptor Nest DPA Project).
