Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee Special Meeting Minutes ADOPTED 1 August 24 2020 Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee Minutes of a Special Meeting Date: Monday, August 24, 2020 Location: Electronic Meeting Members Present: Peter Luckham, Chair Laura Patrick, Local Trustee Peter Grove, Local Trustee Staff Present: Russ Hotsenpiller, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) David Marlor, Director of Local Planning Services Stefan Cermak, Regional Planning Manager (RPM) Shayla Burnham, Administrative Assistant Sarah Shugar, Recorder These minutes follow the order of the agenda although the sequence may have varied. 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Luckham called the meeting to order at 1:07 p.m. Chair Luckham introduced himself, the Trustees and staff and acknowledged that the Local Trust Committee is meeting within Coast Salish Territory. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA By general consent the agenda was approved. 3. CLOSED MEETING 3.1 Motion to Close the Meeting Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee Special Meeting Minutes ADOPTED 2 August 24 2020 SS-2020-121 At 1:08 p.m., It was MOVED and SECONDED that the Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee close this meeting to the public subject to Community Charter Sections: 90 (1)(e) the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality; 90 (1)(i) the receipt of advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose; 90 (2) A part of a council meeting must be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to one or more of the following; 90 (2) (b) the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party and that staff be invited to remain. CARRIED 3.2 Motion to Open the Meeting SS-2020-122 At 2:08 p.m., It was MOVED and SECONDED, that the Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee re-open this meeting to the public subject to Section 89 of the Community Charter. CARRIED 3.3 Rise and Report - None 4.
