Dear Stuart:  
 
At the Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee of February 19, 2018, the Local Trust Committee passed 
the following resolution: 
 
LA-2018-008 
It was MOVED and SECONDED, 
that [the] Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee Chair write a letter to the Ministry of 
Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) to highlight road safety issues concerning Weldon 
Road. 
CARRIED 
 
This request follows the receipt of public comments concerning the ongoing safety of Weldon Road, 
particularly in regards to subdivision applications.   
 
Concerns expressed at the meeting included: there are extremely narrow portions of Weldon Road 
where two large vehicles have difficulty passing, there are blind corners and poor visibility, and the 
potential for an accident is high.
