ADOPTED Lasqueti Island ADOPTED 1 Local Trust Committee Minutes October 8, 2015 Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee Minutes of Regular Meeting Date: Location: October 8, 2015 Lasqueti Island Arts Centre Main Road, Lasqueti Island, BC Members Present Laura Busheikin, Chair Susan Morrison, Local Trustee Timothy Peterson, Local Trustee Staff Present Others Present Marnie Eggen, Acting Island Planner Ann Kjerulf, Regional Planning Manager Dave Olsen, Recorder There were five (5) members of the public in attendance. 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Busheikin called the meeting to order at 11:02 am. She acknowledged that the meeting was being held in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The following additions to the agenda were presented for consideration: 6.1 “Adopted” is changed to “draft”, and “receipt” is changed to “adoption.” 13.9 Trustee Morrison’s report regarding trespass on Mount Trematon Nature Reserve 14.1 Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) Grant for Age-Friendly Planning Project Funding By general consent the agenda was adopted as amended. 3. TOWN HALL AND QUESTIONS One member of the public spoke and the following was summarized: A question was raised about the Local Trust Committee’s request for funding regarding the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review. 4. COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETING - none 5. PUBLIC HEARING – none ADOPTED Lasqueti Island ADOPTED 2 Local Trust Committee Minutes October 8, 2015 6. MINUTES 6.1 Local Trust Committee Minutes dated July 30, 2015 for adoption. By general consent the minutes of the Lasqueti Local Trust Committee Meeting of July 30, 2015 were adopted as presented. 6.2 Section 26 Resolutions-without-meeting - none 6.3 Advisory Planning Commission Minutes DRAFT - dated August 11, 2015 for receipt Members of the Public advised that Milne Bay should read Mine Bay and that Peter Johnson’s name should be corrected to Peter Johnston. Received with corrections for information. 7. BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES 7.1 Follow-up Action List dated September 29, 2015 Acting Island Planner Eggen noted that some of the items will be addressed during the meeting. 7.2 Bylaw No. 91 - Amendment to Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee Procedure Bylaw No. 74 7.2.1 Memorandum dated September 23, 2015 Bylaw No. 91, cited as "Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee Meeting Procedure Bylaw No. 74, 2004, Amendment Bylaw No. 1, 2015". - For consideration of adoption. Acting Island Planner Eggen gave an update regarding the status of this Bylaw. A member of the public asked about coordinating with the Last Resort Society regarding telecommunications for on and off island use.
