Proposed Bylaw No. 129
Minor Land Use Bylaw Amendments Project
The South Pender Island Local Trust Committee invites the public to attend a Public Hearing beginning at 10:30 
am, Friday, September 5, 2025, St. Peter’s Anglican Church Hall, 4703 Canal Road, North Pender Island, to 
hear your views regarding Proposed Bylaw No. 129.
A Community Information Meeting will be held before the Public Hearing for you to learn more about the bylaw 
and to ask questions.
What is Proposed Bylaw No. 129 about?
The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 129 is to amend the South Pender Island Local Trust Committee Land Use 
Bylaw No. 114. Bylaw No. 129 proposes to increase the maximum floor area for new dwellings; permit the height 
of a dwelling or cottage to exceed 9.2 metres at any one point; reduce the setback for dwellings and cottages 
from the exterior and interior side lot lines from 6 metres (20 feet) to 3 metres (10 feet); and provide greater 
clarity regarding regulations for shipping containers, recreational vehicles, maximum floor area, and agriculture.
