Schedule a Special Meeting re: draft Code of Conduct
PURPOSE: To restate the Governance Committee’s May 13, 2024, business meeting decision to
schedule a Special Meeting to discuss and work on the draft Code of Conduct.
BACKGROUND: At its May 13, 2024, regular business meeting the Governance Committee (GC)
addressed item 7.2 Draft Code of Conduct Update – Briefing. The following excerpt is taken from the
May 13

draft minutes:
(Item) 7.2 Draft Code of Conduct Update – Briefing
Director of Legislative Services (DLS) Marlor spoke to the briefing as presented.
Discussion ensued on next steps the Committee wished to take to address the draft Code of
Conduct.
Chair Gedye commented that this item to be added to the work program matrix as urgent
and important/high priority.
GC-2024-016
It was MOVED and SECONDED,
That Governance Committee schedule a Special Meeting at the earliest possible
convenience to discuss and work on the Code of Conduct draft policy.
CARRIED
The GC May 13 draft minutes were circulated to the Committee and posted to the meeting’s webpage
on May 16.
Governance Committee members were polled on May 17, 2024, to find the earliest possible date to
discuss and work on the Code of Conduct draft policy. On May 28, 2024, all members concurred via
email that June 24, 2024, 10AM to 12PM was a convenient date and time.
Resolution without meeting No. GC-RWM-2024-02 was carried June 19, 2024, confirming June 24, 2024,
beginning at 10 AM to be the Special Electronic meeting date and time.
