Registration is required prior to the removal or deposit of soil in quantities greater than 40 cubic meters and up to 100 cubic meters of 
material. A permit is required for quantities greater than 100 cubic meters and requires a different application form. 
  
Please note: Prior to engaging in soil removal or deposit activity, the following considerations may need to be addressed: 
  
Any covenants registered on title of the subject property may have restrictions on the type or location of activity proposed. 
Property owners and agents are advised to be aware of the content of any covenants that may be on title. 
  
It is the owner's responsibility to determine the existence of archaeological sites on the property. The Province of British 
Columbia's Archaeological Branch can help property owners learn if there are any known archaeological sites in the area. 
  
There may be other regulations that apply to the specific conditions of the subject property. Provincial legislation including, 
but not limited to, the Wildlife Act, the Water Act, and the Environmental Management Act Contaminated Sites Regulation
