Re: Revisions to the Howe Sound Community Forum Principles for Cooperation May 2022 
 
The Gambier Island Local Trust Committee was a founding member of the Howe Sound Community 
Forum since it was formed in 2000. In 2002 the Chair signed on to the Principles for Cooperation. 
Gambier Island Local Trust Committee has actively participated in the bi-annual meetings and sub-
committees of the Howe Sound Community Forum and hosted the forum in 2017 and 2019. Gambier 
Island Local Trust Committee played a key role in the development of the original Principles for 
Cooperation. 
 
We acknowledge and support the May 2022 changes to the wording of the Principles for Cooperation 
that reflect the societal and logistical changes over the past 20 years, based on a reasonable assessment 
of convening costs for any specific meeting for which we are the host organization. 
 
Gambier Island Local Trust Committee also acknowledges the secretariat services undertaken by the 
Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society. We expect that future Gambier Island Local Trust 
Committees will continue the ongoing participation and support as Howe Sound Community Forum 
members as described in the revised Principles for Cooperation, recognizing the benefits of cooperation 
to the Átl'ka7tsem/Howe Sound Region community.
