NOTICE OF COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETING - UPDATED
PROPOSED REZONING FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
On October 23, 2021 the Galiano Island Local Trust Committee (LTC) will be holding a
Community Information Meeting (CIM) on the proposed rezoning of the ‘Galiano Green’
property located at 409 Porlier Pass Road, to allow for the development of up to 20 residential
affordable housing rental units distributed in 4 multi-unit buildings.
At this meeting, the LTC, Islands Trust staff and representatives for the applicant (i.e. the Galiano
Affordable Living Initiative Society, or GALI) will be presenting information about the proposed
rezoning and associated draft Bylaw No. 280 and responding to questions.
An in-person CIM was originally scheduled to be held on October 2, 2021 but has been moved
to October 23 and changed to an electronic format by LTC in light of ongoing Covid concerns.
The draft bylaw, staff reports, professional reports and other background information are
available on the Islands Trust applications webpage under GL-RZ-2021.1 (GALI):
