Information note: The Gambier Island Local Trust Committee has jurisdiction over land use planning for 
all islands and islets located in the marine areas of Sunshine Coast Regional District Electoral Areas B, 
D and F.

Development in or near water features may be subject to land use regulations such as setbacks and/or 
development   permit   areas.   This   declaration   will   help   determine   whether   or   not   a      proposed 
development requires special planning approval. 
A water feature includes any of the following: 
 Any watercourse, whether it usually contains water or not; 
 Any pond, lake, or wetland (marsh, bog, fen etc.) and/ or 
 Any river, creek, brook, ditch, culvert or spring. 
 
Please note, water features that are capable of supporting fish habitat are subject to the Riparian Areas 
Regulation. Please contact the Islands Trust Northern Office for further information.
