Several Islands Trust staff have set up booths on BC Ferries routes and this has provided them a unique opportunity to speak with local residents and visitors to the Islands Trust Area. BC Ferries staff have been supportive and accommodating to our staff, for example by announcing their presence on the public address system for passengers to locate them. Islands 2050 is a public engagement process designed to help everyone plan for the challenges and opportunities the Islands Trust Area will face in the next 30 years, particularly as we prepare for the realities of climate change. As Islands Trust continues to seek input from the public and around the region, the assistance BC Ferries is providing staff is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
