As you note, the existing Policy Statement has provided a positive vision for the Islands Trust Area for the past 20 years. | understand the importance of updating the Policy Statement in light of the many evolving matters that have occurred over this period, such as reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, climate change, and development pressures. | trust that the proposed strategies for engaging with First Nations, stakeholders, and the wider community will help ensure a successful outcome. | am also happy to hear that provincial agencies will be working with the Islands Trust to coordinate their input. The review and amendment of the Islands Trust Policy Statement will enable it to continue to act as a foundational document guiding land use planning and advocacy decisions for years ahead. | wish you all the success with this important revision and look forward to receiving periodic updates as you work towards the updated Policy Statement.
