V8R 1H8 via email: pluckham@islandstrust.bc.ca Dear Peter; Thank you for your recent letter commending the staff of BC Ferries for the support they provided to island communities in the wake of the wind storm on December 20, 2018. After the storm, our employees worked hard to restore service, get people home, and keep communities connected. We offered assistance in any way we could, prioritized emergency service vehicles, and helped BC Hydro crews and equipment reach the hardest hit areas. I am tremendously proud of my team for their dedicated and professional response, especially because many of them were struggling, too. We take pride in serving the people of coastal British Columbia and understand our role is more than just a transportation option. For many island communities, the ferry system is a vital link. When times get tough, our employees work the hardest to support the communities that support, and rely on, us. On behalf of all of us at BC Ferries, thank you for your kind note, and for taking the time to write to us. I will circulate your letter to our employees. Yours sincerely, Mark Collins President & CEO
