CALL TO ORDER Chair Crumblehulme called the meeting to order at 10:31 a.m. and acknowledged the meeting was being held on unceded Coast Salish territory. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 2.2 Approval of Agenda The agenda as presented was approved. 3. TOWN HALL AND QUESTIONS These are not verbatim but rather summarized for the public. Maxine Litner – Chair, Positively Forward Group - (a sub-group of the larger group on Salt Spring) will report out in July on Capital Regional District (CRD) service delivery and requested that the Islands Trust’s existing separation between land use planning and service delivery be maintained. Peter Lamb – felt that scope of the term “services” needed to be defined and spoke to various studies which have been done and joint coordination agreements which are in place. Trust Programs Committee Minutes of April 16, 2018 Page 2 Gail Acre – Representative, Salt Spring Community Alliance and Governance Group. She reported that six major themes have emerged from the group’s work including housing, health, micro-economics, infrastructure, environment and governance. The Governance Group will be presenting some results of their work at their June 25, 2018 meeting. Darryl Martin, former Chair of the Salt Spring Island Community Economic Commission, and member of the Governance Group, reiterated an intention to present an analysis of governance options to the community. Linda Adams – elaborated on the work of the Governance Group which will analyze options against criteria and diagram out different governance models for consideration to present at its June meeting.
