SUBJECT: Shoreline Protection Project Status update  
PURPOSE 
The purpose of this memo is to provide the Local Trust Committee (LTC) with an outline of the topics which will 
be  presented  by  staff  during  the  June  26,  2017  regular  business  meeting  in  consideration  of  next  steps  and 
recommended options pertaining to the shoreline protection project: 
1. Recommended amendments to the Official Community Plan (OCP) policies and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) 
regulations to enable formal shoreline protection measures; 
2. Introduction of draft Development Permit Area (DPA) provisions for marine shoreline protection; 
3. Introduction of draft subdivision regulations designed to limit fragmentation of the natural boundary of 
the sea without reducing subdivision potential; 
4. Overview of consultation options; 
5. Recommendations to move towards draft bylaw preparation. 
 
The staff presentation slides  and notes/recommendations will be an addendum to the June 26 agenda item for 
the above noted project file.
