That the Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee request staff prepare the draft Official Community Plan for First Reading incorporating changes discussed at the August 6, 2026 Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee special meeting. REPORT SUMMARY This report provides a revised draft of the Gabriola OCP. This draft includes changes recommended by the LTC at their July 16, 2026 LTC meeting as well as technical amendments identified by community members and staff. Substantive issues that have be brought up in feedback from the community and issues identified by staff and Trustees are identified for discussion and decision. BACKGROUND Gabriola istand Official Community Plan Review Timeline to re CP Ret i te ageroes & The Gabriola OCP and LUB review project began in 2023. It has moved through three phases involving many public engagement activities. e Phase 1 focussed on community visioning through in person engagement and surveys. e Phase 2 focussed on public engagement around key policy areas and included a number of focus groups as well as broader public engagement. e Phase 3 focussed on bylaw writing.
