The proposed permit would vary the the Salt Spring Island Land Use Bylaw No. 355 by: Varying subsection 4.4.1, to reduce the required setback from the natural boundary of any water body from 15.0 metres to 5.5 metres to permit the replacement and installation of a septic tank. Varying subsection 4.5.1(3) to reduce the required setback from the natural boundary of a water body that leads into St. Mary Lake from 60.0 metres to 14.0 metres in order to permit the remediation of a sewage disposal field.
