GABRIOLA ISLAND LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE 
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE 
 
The Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee would like to invite the public to attend a public hearing beginning at 7:30 
pm, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Gabriola Island Community Hall, 2200 South Road, Gabriola Island, BC, 
to hear your views regarding proposed Bylaws No. 265 and 266.  The public hearing will be preceded by a Community 
Information Meeting beginning at 7:00 pm. 
 
What are the Proposed Bylaws about? 
 
Proposed Bylaws 265 and 266 will designate circumstances for which development approval information may be required in the Gabriola Island 
Planning Area by moving existing development permit area guidelines from Gabriola Island Official Community Plan No. 166 to Gabriola Island Land 
Use Bylaw No. 177, and will also implement the Provincial Riparian Areas Regulation by adding a new Development Permit Area 3 – Riparian Areas, 
as shown in Sketch 1.

How Do I get More Information? 
 
A copy of the proposed Bylaws and other relevant background documents may be inspected at Islands Trust Northern Office, 700 North Road, 
Gabriola Island, BC between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, commencing Monday, February 24, 
2014 to  Wednesday, March 12, 2014. 
 
For the convenience of the public only, and not to satisfy Section 892(2) (e) of the Local Government Act, the proposed Bylaws may also be viewed 
on the Islands Trust website (www.islandstrust.bc.ca) under “Islands”, “Local Trust Area”, “Gabriola” , “Bylaws”.
