MINUTES OF THE GALIANO ISLAND 
LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING 
HELD ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2013, AT 1:00 P.M. 
AT THE GALIANO SOUTH COMMUNITY HALL 
141 STURDIES BAY ROAD, GALIANO ISLAND, B.C. 
  
PRESENT:   Ken Hancock    Chair 
Louise Decario   Local Trustee 
Sandy Pottle    Local Trustee 
Robert Kojima   Regional Planning Manager 
Kris Nichols    Island Planner 
Lori Foster    Planning Secretary 
 
There were approximately (40) forty members of the public present. 
  
1. CALL TO ORDER 
 
Chair Hancock introduced himself, welcomed the public, and called the meeting 
to order at 1:03 pm, recognizing that the Local Trust Committee meeting was 
being held on traditional Coast Salish Territories.  Chair Hancock introduced the 
Local Trustees, Islands Trust Staff, members of the Capital Regional District 
(CRD), and members of the Galiano Land and Community Housing Trust 
(GLCHT). 
 
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 
 
 2.1 Additions/Deletions 
 
  Addition:  New Item 4.1.1 Capital Regional District:  David Howe,   
  Director and Maurice Rachwalski, Acting General Manager,    
  Planning and Protective Services.  
 
2.2 Questions from Public on Agenda Items 
 
None 
 
The agenda, as amended, was adopted by consensus. 
 
3. OPEN HOUSE 
 
Chair Hancock invited all in attendance to review the informational materials 
posted by the Galiano Land and Community Trust and reports and  maps 
presented by the Islands Trust staff.

Note - A recess was called at 1:10 pm to give everyone an opportunity to circulate 
 and informally review the materials. 
 
Note - Chair Hancock called the meeting back to order at 1:35 pm.

5. ADJOURNMENT
