This is a special meeting of the South Pender Local Trust Committee and we'd like to begin by thanking everyone for being here and for acknowledging that the land and waters on which we gather is within the traditional territories of many Coast Salish peoples.

[0:00:22] Voice 1: I'm here on Gabriela Island, where Snuneymuk First Nation has been living and fishing and building community and working with the land for many, many thousands of years.

[0:00:38] Voice 1: Your two local trustees, of course, on Steyas, now known as South Pender Island.

[0:00:44] Voice 1: This area has been home to the Central Coast Salish peoples since time immemorial.

[0:00:50] Voice 1: And so with that, I'd like to open our meeting and begin with an approval of the agenda.

[0:01:00] Voice 1: So we only have one item on our agenda, and that is to go into a closed in-camera meeting session.

[0:01:11] Voice 1: So is there any additions or changes? Do we, by general consent, approve the agenda?

[0:01:17] Voice 1: Yes.

[0:01:18] Voice 1: thank you um and so now if i could have a motion to close the meeting um anyone can do that

Chair Elliott called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. She acknowledged that the meeting was 
held on the territory of the Coast Salish First Nations. 
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 
By general consent the agenda was approved as presented. 
3. CLOSED MEETING 
3.1 Motion to Close the Meeting

It was MOVED and SECONDED 
that the meeting be closed to the public in accordance with the Community 
Charter, Part 4, Division 3, s. 90 (1)(a) personal information about an identifiable 
individual who holds or is being considered for a position as an officer, 
employee or agent of the municipality or another position appointed by the 
municipality and that Staff and the Recorder attend the meeting. 
CARRIED 
 
The regular meeting was recessed at 10:33 a.m. and reconvened at 11:23 a.m.
