CALL TO ORDER Chair Luckham called the meeting to order at 11:08 am. He acknowledged that the meeting was being held in traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The following addition to the agenda was presented for consideration: 15.1 Brooks Point Regional Park By general consent the agenda was approved as amended. 3. TRUSTEE REPORT Trustee Wright welcomed newly elected Trustees Dag Falck and Kristina Peszel. Trustee Thorn welcomed newly elected Trustees Dag Falck and Kristina Peszel and expressed appreciation to everyone who participated in the local elections. 4. CHAIR'S REPORT Chair Luckham reported Executive Committee is working on the transition following the Local Elections. The Trustee Swearing In Ceremony will be held on November 17, 2022. 5. TOWN HALL AND QUESTIONS Chair Luckham opened the Town Hall at 11:14 a.m. A D O P T E D South Pender Local Trust Committee Regular Business Meeting November 4, 2022 ADOPTED Page 2 of 6 A member of the public expressed appreciation to Trustee Thorn and Trustee Wright for all of the work done on behalf of the South Pender Island community and welcomed newly elected Trustees. A member of the public expressed appreciation to Trustee Thorn, Trustee Wright and Chair Luckham for all of the work done on behalf of the community and specifically advocating for the Islands Trust Governance Review project. The member of the public spoke to the significant environmental threat to Pender Island. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority will host a community information meeting on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Hall and additional meetings in Cowichan Bay and Ladysmith. The member of the public presented an information brochure regarding vessel anchorages, encouraged Trustees to attend the information meeting and encouraged the Islands Trust to continue advocacy regarding vessel anchorages in the Salish Sea. Trustee Wright asked the member of the public how much increase is anticipated as a result of the Trans Mountain Pipeline. The member of the public responded that the Port of Vancouver has a new Active Vessel Traffic Management Program and will continue to rely on the use of the 33 vessel anchorages in the Salish Sea.
