ADOPTED Gabriola Island ADOPTED 1 Local Trust Committee Minutes April 11, 2019 Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Minutes of Regular Meeting Date: Location: April 11, 2019 Gabriola Commons, Large Meeting Room, Farm House, Upstairs 675 North Road, Gabriola, BC, V0R 1X5 Members Present: Dan Rogers, Chair Kees Langereis, Local Trustee Scott Colbourne, Local Trustee Staff Present: Ann Kjerulf, Regional Planning Manager Warren Dingman, Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Officer Nadine Mourao, Recorder Others Present: There were approximately three (3) members of the public and one (1) member of the media in attendance 1. CALL TO ORDER “Please note, the order of agenda items may be modified during the meeting. Times are provided for convenience only and are subject to change.” Chair Rogers called the meeting to order at 10:38 am. He acknowledged that the meeting was being held in territory of the Coast Salish First Nations, welcomed the public and introduced Trustees, Staff and Recorder. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The following additions / amendments to the agenda were presented for consideration: Added 11.2 Request for support email from Brenda Fowler at People for a Healthy Community on Gabriola Society (PHC); Added 11.3 Request Staff to advertise for expressions of interest for the Gabriola Island Advisory Planning Commission (APC); and Moved 9. Delegations prior to 3. Town Hall. By general consent the agenda was approved as amended. 3. TOWN HALL - none 4. REPORTS 4.1 Trustee Reports Trustee Colbourne reported the following: Attended Islands Futures Round table along with the representatives of Gabriola Ferry Advisory Committee (FAC) and Gabriola Community Bus (GERTIE); ADOPTED Gabriola Island ADOPTED 2 Local Trust Committee Minutes April 11, 2019 Collected housing data from the Gabriola Health & Wellness Collaborative, PHC, and Angela Pounds, Gabriola Social Worker and now looking for outside funding and support; BC Ferries is consulting the public on replacing their Queen class ferries, looking for feedback on customer experience; and Toured the Highlands Council Eco-Sense farm in Victoria. GB-2019-037 It was MOVED and SECONDED that the Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee accept the Highlands Council Municipal Survival Climate Challenge. CARRIED Trustee Langereis reported on his attendance at the following meetings: With Lisa Wilcox, Intergovernmental Policy Advisor; Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN); and Trust Council (TC); 4.2 Chair's Report Chair Rogers reported his attendance at meetings and on the following: TC where the budget was adopted and the Intergovernmental Policy Advisor position was made permanent; Meeting with the Squamish First Nation; Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities (AVICC) meeting; Executive Committee (EC) meeting, the proposal for the Trust Engagement Policy Statement renewal will be coming through Tru
