Dear Mr. Luckham

Thank you for your letter of April 30, 2018, regarding my ministry’s phase two engagement on
the development of the new spill management regulations. I apologize for the lengthy delay in
responding.

I appreciated the opportunity to discuss this issue with you in person, and I believe it is important
for all British Columbians to have a voice in making sure their province is managed in a
sustainable way.

Thank you for taking the time to share Islands Trust’s submission to the phase two consultation
on the proposed regulations with me. I have forwarded your letter to the Environmental
Emergency Program for inclusion in the official feedback documentation. A summary of the
feedback received will be released later in 2018. As the engagement process continues, I invite
you to visit our website for more information.

Thank you again for taking the time to write.

Sincerely,

George Heyman
Minister
