Re: Derelict Vessels in Plumper Cove Marine Park – Keats Island 
 
Dear Mr. Standen, 
 
I write on behalf of the Gambier Island Local Trust Committee to acknowledge your letter of December 
6, 2017 and specifically, to thank the Minister and the Ministry for the removal of the two derelict 
vessels situated in Plumper Cove Marine Park. 
 
Trustee Dan Rogers from Keats Island has been in touch with Acting Area Superintendent, David 
Whiteside and has been advised the two vessels were removed on March 2, 2018.  As a Local Trust 
Committee we are dedicated to the preservation of the ecosystem throughout Howe Sound and it is 
gratifying that your Ministry moved so quickly following your letter to remove and dispose of the boats.  
They were certainly a blight upon what is a wonderfully pristine Provincial Marine Park.
