THETIS ISLAND LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE The Thetis Island Local Trust Committee invites the public to attend a public hearing beginning at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Beban Park Social Centre (Room 1&2), 2300 Bowen Road, Nanaimo BC, to hear your views regarding proposed Bylaw No. 98. A Community Information Meeting will be held at 1:00 pm, prior to the Public Hearing. What is the Proposed Bylaw about? Proposed Bylaw No. 98, if adopted, will amend Valdes Island Rural Land Use Bylaw No. 42 by rezoning approximately 0.27 hectares (0.67 acres) of marine area, adjacent to Lyackson IR3, Valdes Island, from Marine Conservation (W1) to Marine Barge Facility (W7) to allow barge loading and unloading. How Do I get More Information? A copy of the proposed Bylaw and other relevant background documents may be inspected at Islands Trust Northern Office, 700 North Road, Gabriola Island, BC between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, commencing Thursday, April 13, 2017 to Wednesday, April 24, 2017. For the convenience of the public only, and not to satisfy Section 466(2)(e) of the Local Government Act, the proposed Bylaws may also be viewed on the Islands Trust website (www.islandstrust.bc.ca) under “Islands”, “Local Trust Area”, “Thetis”, “Bylaws”.
