SA LTC- dated Feb13/14 ADOPTED 1 of 8 MINUTES OF THE SATURNA ISLAND LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE BUSINESS MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2014, AT 12:30 P.M. AT THE SATURNA COMMUNITY HALL 105 EAST POINT ROAD, SATURNA ISLAND, B.C. PRESENT: Ken Hancock Chair Paul Brent Local Trustee Pam Janszen Local Trustee Gary Richardson Island Planner Beverley Neff Minute Taker There were seven (7) members of the public in attendance when the meeting began. 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 12:38 p.m. Chair Hancock acknowledged that the meeting was being held in traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES 6.1 Follow-up Action Report Island Planner Richardson reported that all items were completed other than the ongoing authorization of the Chair to execute covenants associated with SA- SUB-2012.2 7. DELEGATIONS None 8. CORRESPONDENCE None 9. APPLICATIONS, PERMITS, BYLAWS AND REFERRALS 9.1. Referral of Mayne Island Local Trust Committee Proposed Bylaws No. 159 and 160 Staff was directed to make sure referred bylaws were sent to the minute taker as they are no longer included in agenda packages. SA-2014-001 It was MOVED and SECONDED, that the Saturna Island Local Trust Committee interests are unaffected by Mayne Island Local Trust Committee Proposed Bylaw No. 159 cited for all purposes as “Mayne Island Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 144, 2007, Amendment No. 1, 2013” and Bylaw No. 160 cited as “Mayne Island Land Use Bylaw No. 146, 2008, Amendment No.2, 2013”. CARRIED SA LTC- dated Feb13/14 ADOPTED 3 of 8 9.2. SA-ALR-2013.2 (Deanovic and Kuzyk) As this property is located within the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), approval to subdivide is required from the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) prior to approval from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Approving Officer. A subdivision application will be provided if the ALC is in support of the two-lot subdivision proposal. Although this is an application to the ALC it is filed with the local government and the application may not proceed without LTC authorization. Island
