 Peter Johnston, Local Trustee

1. CALL TO ORDER 
 
The Chair called the meeting to order at 11:05am.  He welcomed the public and introduced 
himself, Local Trustees and the staff members.  He acknowledged that the meeting was being 
held in traditional territory of Coast Salish First Nations. 
 
 
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 
 
The Agenda was approved by consensus. 
 
 
3. TOWN HALL SESSION 
Four members of the public spoke and the following summary was recorded: 
 
• statement of concern that the minutes of the previous meeting be amended to 
accurately reflect a statement made; 
• statement made that it is important to allow for change and manage it because 
change will occur anyway; 
• statement that the False Bay Area Master Plan staff report was an excellent report; 
• suggestion to the Local Trust Committee that a request be made to the Ministry of 
Transportation and Infrastructure to install signs on the False Bay hill limiting parking 
to a maximum of 30 days; 
• endorsement of the above idea because it lets residents and visitors know the 
parking rules;

• noted that vehicles which are illegally parked on the False Bay hill cannot be towed 
away because there is not a site to remove them to; 
• concerns about the hunting regulation section of the False Bay Area Master Plan 
report; and 
• suggestion that there not be a regulation against a second kitchen for any residence 
on the entire island.

4.1 Local Trust Committee Meeting Minutes of July 11, 2013 
 
The minutes were amended to remove bullet number 2 in Item 3 Town Hall 
Session.

that the Local Trust Committee Meeting Minutes of July 11, 2013 be adopted as 
amended.
