[0:03:39] Voice 2: north pender ltc um having that meeting fairly brief trustee morrison was unable to attend

[0:03:45] Voice 2: end. So there was just two of us. We gave staff instruction to prepare bylaws for a rezoning of

[0:03:55] Voice 2: an industrial property. That was the situation. It's been operating that way, I understand,

[0:04:02] Voice 2: for more than 40 years under a TUP for 11 or 12 years. And so we would give instruction for staff

[0:04:12] Voice 2: to prepare the bylaws subsequently there was some kind of controversy with the

[0:04:16] Voice 2: append around conservancy which disagrees with the biologist's conclusion the applicant

[0:04:23] Voice 2: had a fairly extensive biology published report that went I think on to 85 pages

[0:04:30] Voice 2: it had staff concurrence but the pend around conservancy disagrees with the conclusions

[0:04:36] Voice 2: and the considerations that were made in that report so there's a little bit of

[0:04:42] Voice 2: friction there that we need to work through um otherwise we just we had a brief talk on

[0:04:48] Voice 2: discussion about what's coming but trust council um with the ministry giving presentation stbrs

[0:04:53] Voice 2: um it's always been a controversial thing on north fender um and there was a lot of

[0:05:01] Voice 2: community interest and trustee interest in that that briefing so really looking forward to that

[0:05:07] Voice 2: tomorrow it's going to be i think the highlight of trust council and i think under that we're

[0:05:13] Voice 2: We're doing good.

[0:05:27] Voice 3: Just wanted to mention I've been attending the Transport Canada 2025 Ocean Protection Plan Pacific Marine Dialogue Series.

[0:05:40] Voice 3: I wouldn't have had an opportunity to do it.

[0:05:43] Voice 3: There's the most recent one, Adam Olson spoke.

[0:05:46] Voice 3: There's a bunch of information about a couple of First Nations-led programs that were quite interesting.

[0:05:53] Voice 3: I have a short, very short report that I'm just going to give you all out to all trustees for information because it's free to register.

[0:06:01] Voice 3: It's about, usually about an hour and a half every second.

[0:06:06] Voice 3: A worthy resource and quite interesting discussions there.

[0:06:14] Voice 8: I've had no meetings since our last committee meeting, but coming up on Friday is self-punders.

[0:06:27] Voice 8: This is, of course, one that's letting me know of it.

[0:06:30] Voice 8: And then this LTC meeting is discussed as now electronic.

[0:06:40] Voice 8: And we actually, this came remarkably fast, so thank you staff, this minor project on the land use by-law amendment for minimum area, lot area for subdivision.

[0:06:53] Voice 8: So the LTC had just asked for this in October, and already we have this report, so it's great.

[0:07:00] Voice 8: We have some progress on the minor project, but the community has been very keen to see the best.

[0:07:07] Voice 8: So that will be electronic next Monday, December 8th.

[0:07:38] Voice 5: both between preparing for Gabriela

[0:07:40] Voice 5: and Gambier's community information meeting

[0:07:43] Voice 5: the following week on trust policy statement,

[0:07:47] Voice 5: worked hard with staff

[0:07:49] Voice 5: on preparing new opening statements

[0:07:52] Voice 5: prior to public meetings, public comments.

[0:07:56] Voice 5: I'll be testing that again later today

[0:08:02] Voice 5: And I think it's been excellent timing

[0:08:04] Voice 5: with the training that we're doing

[0:08:05] Voice 5: with the principled engagement

[0:08:07] Voice 5: because it is definitely showing up in our meetings,

[0:08:43] Voice 5: definitely pertaining to heightened interest in First Nations and the reconciliation policy

[0:08:50] Voice 5: agreements, the Land Back one in particular, and that's what it is. Also, CAO Brony and I got the

[0:09:00] Voice 5: the pleasure of representing all of you

[0:09:02] Voice 5: at the Legislative Gallery last Wednesday,

[0:09:06] Voice 5: and also getting to witness question period

[0:09:09] Voice 5: and sort of ground zero of where some of all of this

[0:09:13] Voice 5: rhetoric toward the TINUS agreement is coming from,

[0:09:20] Voice 5: but we were recognized and had a photo opportunity

[0:09:23] Voice 5: in regards with Minister Boyle.

[0:09:25] Voice 5: And so the end of the report,

[0:17:07] Voice 7: kind of rigor that's been provided so there's a staff recommendation is that um we push back

[0:17:13] Voice 7: a little bit and provide some ask for consideration of the island's trust object in legislation

[0:17:19] Voice 5: think there's some very strong um correspondence out there in particular talking about development

[0:17:26] Voice 5: permit areas there's broad range effects on lots of municipalities but

[0:20:43] Voice 3: but a discussion with the QRD Director, Paul, for area Liskety.

[0:20:50] Voice 3: This is about the Federal Port Investiture Program.

[0:20:54] Voice 3: program. In large measure, the program has been successful in that the federal government

[0:21:04] Voice 3: has divested a large percentage of the ports that they were hoping to divest. We're really

[0:21:09] Voice 3: now getting down to some remote port facilities that are really quite essential. There's uncertainty

[0:21:19] Voice 3: uncertainty in the communities that are served by these ports. We think that ABICC is a good

[0:21:27] Voice 3: venue to bring it before it goes to the, I think it would go to FCM, the federal municipalities

[0:21:37] Voice 3: group from ABICC if it's successful, because there are a number of ports on the coast.

[0:21:47] Voice 3: may or may not be, it probably is not such a great thing to advance to UPCM, just because

[0:21:55] Voice 3: it's not, you know, sort of universal across the province, but perhaps in working with

[0:22:02] Voice 3: the AVICC, just going directly to the federal municipalities, just advocating essentially

[0:22:09] Voice 3: Essentially that the federal government cease their divestment efforts on these essential ports because it's causing unnecessary concern and uncertainty in the small communities that are served entirely by the small ports.

[0:22:22] Voice 3: So I'll be, I'm working with Director Fall and bringing some together a bit more information, which I'll get to Director Frater well in advance of our next meeting.

[0:22:33] Voice 3: and then the piece that I'm not totally clear about is there was a whether it's appropriate

[0:22:43] Voice 3: and we have ever done like a joint resolution because that's what Director Falk's suggestion

[0:22:51] Voice 3: was possibility it was a joint IELTS trust QRD resolution so I wanted to give the background so
