CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. 2. TERRITORIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Chair Gauvreau acknowledged that the meeting was being held in traditional territories of the Coast Salish First Nations and initiated introductions. 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 3.1 Introduction of New Items 3.2 Approval of Agenda By general consent the agenda was approved as amended. 4. RISE AND REPORT DECISIONS None 5. ADOPTION OF MINUTES None 6. BUSINESS 6.1 Items for Approval 6.1.1 Islands Trust Policy Statement (Bylaw No. TC 183) Request For Decision ADOPTED Islands Trust Conservancy Board Minutes of a Special Meeting January 30, 2026 ADOPTED Page 2 of 5 Manager Tyrrell presented the Request for Decision. Discussion ensued: • Discussion and editing of response recommendations from staff; • Scope of the ITC Board’s area of interest to comment on, what lens to consider from; • Islands Trust Conservancy as an arm of the Islands Trust responsible for commenting in relations to its responsibilities for acquiring, managing and disposing of lands and properties, according to the Islands Trust Act and those items impacting the conservation of biodiversity; and • Acknowledging Trust Council and staff for all the work put into the draft Policy Statement. ITC-2026-011 It was MOVED and SECONDED, That the Islands Trust Conservancy Board indicate to the Islands Trust Council that it recommends approval of Islands Trust Council Draft Bylaw 183, Islands Trust Policy Statement with the following recommendations to consider: 1. That Part 1: Islands Trust Act (page 4) include the following paragraph: “The Islands Trust Conservancy was established by the British Columbia provincial government in 1990 as a regional land trust and the conservation arm of the Islands Trust. The work of the Islands Trust Conservancy Board is guided by the Islands Trust Conservancy Five-year Plan, which is approved by the Minister of Municipal Housing and Affairs under Section 44 of the Islands Trust Act.” 2. That section 2.3.1 - Cooperation Principles (page 10) be revised as suggested: “To collaborate closely with the Islands Trust Conservancy Board, and be informed by, local Indigenous knowledge, science-based conservatio
