Dear Rueben Bronee:

Thank you for meeting with me at the recent Union of British Columbia Municipalities
(UBCM) Convention. I appreciated the opportunity to hear from you and other
representatives of the Island Trust and to discuss unique issues important to the islands.

In our meeting, you mentioned you are hoping to work with the Ministry of Housing and
Municipal Affairs and provide feedback on the Housing Needs assessment methodology
and some of the issues in rural areas you’re finding. As discussed, I’d like to introduce you
to my colleague, Tejindar (TJ) Parhar, Assistant Deputy Minister for Housing and Land Use
Policy (HLUP). The Housing Needs Report methodology is one of the responsibilities that
falls under HLUP, and feedback can be shared with them by emailing PLUM@gov.bc.ca.

Thank you again for your time,

Sincerely,

John Thomson
