NOTICE OF COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETING 
 
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Saturna Island Local Trust Committee (LTC) will be holding a Community 
Information Meeting at the Saturna Island Recreation and Cultural Centre. The purpose of this meeting is to 
engage further with the community on the LTC’s Minor Housing Amendments Review Project, and for Bylaw 
Enforcement Staff to present options regarding Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Policies, which will include 
a new Short Term Vacation Rental (STVR) enforcement policy. 
 
The housing project scope is to:  
 
1) Review cistern regulations and assess establishing cistern requirements across the Trust Area; 
2) Review secondary suite mapping and update with new provincial saltwater intrusion mapping; 
3) Review Multiple Family Residential (MFR) zoning restrictions and associated OCP policies. 
 
This meeting is being held in conjunction with the LTC’s regular business meeting. During the Community 
Information Meeting portion, staff will provide a brief update on each of the topics (ie. Housing project and STVR 
enforcement) and the community will then have the opportunity to ask questions of staff and the LTC.
