VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  
Housing Advisory Planning Commission Members 
 
The Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee is seeking expressions of 
interest for its Housing Advisory Planning Commission (HAPC).   
 
The  role  of  the  HAPC is to provide  advice  and  recommendations to  the 
LTC on  policy  and  regulations  to  address a  wide  range  of housing  needs 
on  Gabriola  Island,  including  emergency  shelters,  rental,  market  home 
ownership and Indigenous housing needs. 
 
Nine volunteer members will be appointed for a period of two years. A 
‘Terms of Reference’ guiding the purpose, role and frequency of 
meetings of the HAPC will be developed in coordination with the LTC. 
 
Gabriola Island residents are encouraged to apply, including those who 
have served previously on a general or specialized APC (i.e. Marine, 
Transportation, or Agriculture).  The deadline for expressions of interest 
is April 28, 2023.
