CALL TO ORDER Chair Stamford called the meeting to order at 10:05 am and acknowledged that the meeting was gathering virtually from locations across the treaty and unseeded territories the Coast Salish peoples. 1.1 Fund Development Training The acting Islands Trust Conservancy Fundraising Specialist provided a presentation to Board members touching on the culture of philanthropy, roles, why people give, story- telling, inspiring and influencing others, and developing a personal elevator pitch. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA By general consent, the Islands Trust Conservancy Board approved the agenda as presented. 3. RISE AND REPORT The Islands Trust Conservancy Board reported on the following items: The Islands Trust Conservancy approved a Morrison-Waxler Biodiversity Protection Legacy Fund Grant of $5,500 to pay for survey and baseline report costs for a NAPTEP covenant on lands owned by Lisa Baile and Peter Paré, of North Pender Island. The Islands Trust Conservancy approved an Opportunity Fund Grant of $2,500 to be awarded to the Salt Spring Island Water Preservation Society. 4. MINUTES/COORDINATION 4.1 Minutes of Meetings/Resolutions without Meetings 4.1.1 Approval of the March 30, 2021 Meeting Minutes By general consent, the Islands Trust Conservancy meeting minutes of March 30, 2021 were adopted. 4.2 Follow-up Action List The Islands Trust Conservancy Board accepted the document for information. 5. BUSINESS 5.1 Items for Approval 5.1.1 Islands Trust Conservancy Annual Report 2020-21 Draft - Request for Decision Board members discussed edits to the resolution and suggested using the report for financial advisors and donors.
