March 2021 Islands Trust Council Meeting Program Announced

 ʷəŋən, METULIYE/Victoria, B.C. – Islands Trust Council invites the public to participate in its next business meeting 
being held electronically March 9-11, 2021.  Since April 2020, Council has been meeting online to ensure the safety of 
trustees, staff, and the public.  The public can access the electronic meeting live stream in real time on a computer or 
smartphone, listen and participate by telephone call-in or, join the meeting by computer.  
 
Trust Council meets quarterly to make decisions about matters that apply to the Islands Trust Area, and parts of the 
meeting involve routine business. Trust Council receives, discusses, and makes decisions about policies, finances, and 
proposed work for the coming quarter. There is also a trustee roundtable where Trust Council members provide local 
information about initiatives, events, or developments of interest to all trustees.  
 
Trust Council works to preserve and protect over 450 islands and their surrounding waters in the Salish Sea.  Input, 
comments, ideas, and feedback on topics related to the jurisdiction of the Islands Trust are welcomed.

Delegations and Town Hall – You are invited to make a presentation to Trust Council, or speak at the Town Hall portion of

Budget 2021/22 – Have your say by completing the Budget 2021/22 survey. It closes February 7, 2021.  Trust Council will 
consider public input and approve the final 2021/22 budget at this meeting. 
 
Policy Statement Discussion Session – Have your say by completing the Policy Directions survey. It closes February 5, 
2021. Trust Council will hold a full day’s discussion about the Policy Statement amendment project – Islands 2050: The 
Future of the Trust Area.
