There were approximately 8 members of the public. 
 
  
5.1         Saturna Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw 124 - OCP Amendment 3, 2018 AND 
Saturna Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw 125 - LUB Amendment 1, 2018  
 
Chair Patrick, called the Public Hearing to order at 1:17 pm. She read a formal statement 
outlining the content, purpose and process of the Public Hearing. 
 
Chair Patrick opened the floor to questions and comments. 
 
John Hutchinson spoke in favour of secondary suites and the bylaws to be a good start. 
 
John Money spoke in favour of secondary suite, but said the map needed work to follow 
the lines of the water system. 
 
Pat Carney expressed that the map is not clear enough. 
 
Priscilla Ewbank expressed concern about the water reserve recharge capability and 
increased use of water. 
 
Pat Carney comments on the water system got designed when water use was less and 
asked to keep in mind currently undeveloped lots that need to be considered for future

Planner Richardson clarified that the map and lines are based on lot lines. 
 
John Hutchinson mentioned that it is clear what areas are out, but that there is dispute 
about what is out and the map itself and that we should not delay the overall process. 
 
Chair Patrick called three times for further comments; hearing none, she closed the 
Public Hearing at 1:29 p.m.
