Public Present: Approximately 26 members of the public present. 
 
5.1.1 North Pender Island Local Trust Committee Bylaws No. 211 & 212 
Chair Grams recessed the Regular Meeting at 10:44 a.m. to hold the Public 
Hearing.  He read a prepared statement outlining the content, purpose, and 
process of the Public Hearing.  
 
Planner Starke provided a summary of the Public Hearing notice and the agency 
referrals that were received. 
 
Chair Grams invited comments from the public. 
 
Dale Henning spoke in favour of the application, noting the benefits that the 
organization has provided to the community.  
 
Robert Pasion expressed his support of the application.  
 
Ron Miller expressed his support of the application.  
 
Diane Cuthbert expressed support of the application.  
 
Nancy Boydell spoke in favour, noting the health concerns of the condition of 
the current location.  
 
Jim Petrie noted that the current location provides neither accessible access nor 
public washrooms.  
 
A member of the public requested information on who the building will belong to.

Jim Petrie responded that the Pender Island Community Service Society will 
own the land and the building. 
 
Robert Pasion asked if electric vehicle charging stations will be provided. 
 
Chair Grams made three calls for further oral or written submissions from the 
public.  
 
No further submissions were made.  
 
Chair Grams closed the public hearing at 10:55 am
