ADOPTED Thetis Island Local Trust Committee Minutes September 25, 2013 ADOPTED 1 Thetis Island Local Trust Committee Minutes of a Regular Meeting __________________________________________________________________________________ Date of Meeting: Wednesday, September 25, 2013 Location: Thetis Island Community Centre, Forbes Hall Hunter Room 292 North Cove Road, Thetis Island, BC Members Present: Ken Hancock, Chair Peter Luckham, Local Trustee Sue French, Local Trustee Staff Present: Aleksandra Brzozowski, Island Planner Janice Young, Recorder Media And Others There were two (2) members of the public in attendance Present: 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Hancock called the meeting to order at 9:18 am, welcoming those present and introduced himself, the local trustees and staff. He acknowledged Thetis Island’s location within the traditional territories of the Coast Salish people. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Planner Brzozowski asked to add item 11.4 - Staff Report Regarding Cost Recovery Agreement for Legal Review of a Covenant Restricting Development on Dayman Island, unzoned area. The agenda was approved by general consent. 3. TOWN HALL - None 4. MINUTES 4.1 Local Trust Committee Draft Minutes of July 24, 2013 The minutes of the July 24, 2013 Thetis Island Local Trust Committee were reviewed and adopted by consensus with the following amendments: • Item 12.1.1, page 5, change date to July 16, 2013. • Item 12.4, page 5, line two, replace “a focus on privacy laws and advocacy” with “workshops on freedom of information and advocacy”. ADOPTED Thetis Island Local Trust Committee Minutes September 25, 2013 ADOPTED 2 • Item 16, page 7, line one, add “small” before the word “cost” and “great” before the word “benefit” and, line five move the sentence beginning with “Also” to begin a new paragraph and change to read “ Also, that the possible amendments regarding ocean loop geothermal exchange systems are on the Projects List.” 4.2 Local Trust Committee Draft Minutes of August 3, 2013 The minutes of the August 3, 2013 Thetis Island Local Trust Committee were reviewed and adopted by consensus with the following amendments: • Item 4.2, replace the first sentence with “Acting Chair Luckham left the meeting for another commitment at 1:50PM; the meeting was therefore adjourned. Discussion continued.” • All references to “Acting Chair French” be removed. 4.3 Local Trust Committee Draft Minutes of August 8, 2013 The minutes of the August 8, 2013 Thetis Island Local Trust Committee were reviewed and adopted by consensus with the following amendments: • Change Media and Others Present to read: There were thirty-five (35) members of the public in attendance including: Andrew Stone, Videographer, Ramona de Graaf, Biologist, John Readshaw, Coastal Forces Engineer, and Stephanie Cottell with Suzanne Sarioglu representing the Thetis Island Nature Conservancy (ThINC).
