[0:00:19] Trustee Patrick: at this moment. I always begin with acknowledging how fortunate we are to be able to gather

[0:00:25] Trustee Patrick: in the traditional territories of the Coast Salish people.

[0:00:30] Trustee Patrick: Yesterday, the three local trust committee went on a journey with the Laiakson Nation,

[0:00:36] Trustee Patrick: members of the Laiakson Nation, and experienced relationship building firsthand.

[0:00:42] Trustee Patrick: It was a wonderful day, wonderful experience.

[0:00:46] Trustee Patrick: I'm Laura Patrick.

[0:00:47] Trustee Patrick: I'm elected on Salt Spring and the chair of the Desilent Local Trust Committee.

[0:00:50] Trustee Patrick: I'm joined today by trustee Doug Fenton and trustee Peter Luckum.

[0:00:57] Trustee Patrick: Together we make up your Thetis Island Local Trust Committee.

[0:01:02] Trustee Patrick: This, like I said, we are going to be discussing in-camera matters and we'll have a motion in a moment and that portion will not be available for this meeting.

[0:01:12] Trustee Patrick: We have several staff members joining us today.

[0:01:14] Trustee Patrick: We have Vicki Bachman is our minute taker.

[0:01:17] Trustee Patrick: Good morning, Vicki.

[0:01:19] Trustee Patrick: We have Heather Cower, Regional Planning Manager.

[0:01:21] Trustee Patrick: Thank you, Heather, for joining us.

[0:01:23] Trustee Patrick: Warren Digman, our Manager of Bylaw Enforcement.

[0:01:25] Trustee Patrick: And we have Willa Cottingham, our Office Administrative Assistant, who is making this meeting run smoothly.

[0:01:34] Trustee Patrick: This meeting is an official forum for your local trust committee to make decisions about land use planning matters and discuss relevant business.

[0:01:41] Trustee Patrick: We have an agenda before us.

[0:01:44] Trustee Patrick: Are there any additions or changes to the agenda?

[0:01:47] Trustee Patrick: agenda? If not, can we approve the agenda through general consent? Excellent. In that case, we'll

[0:01:56] Trustee Patrick: move on with the agenda. We have only one item on the agenda. That's a closed meeting and I need a

1. CALL TO ORDER 
“Please note, the order of agenda items may be modified during the meeting. Times are provided 
for convenience only and are subject to change.” 
Chair Patrick called the meeting to order at 10:33 am.  She acknowledged that the meeting was 
being held in territory of the Coast Salish First Nations and reported that yesterday Trustees 
participated in a relationship building event with Lyackson First Nation that was a wonderful 
experience. She introduced Trustees, staff and recorder. 
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 
By general consent the agenda was approved as presented. 
3. CLOSED MEETING 
3.1 Motion to Close the Meeting 
TH-2022-013 
It was MOVED and SECONDED, 
that the meeting be closed to the public in accordance with the Community Charter, 
Part 4, Division 3, s.90(1)(f) for the purpose of considering Bylaw Enforcement and that 
the recorder and staff attend the meeting. 
CARRIED 
The meeting was closed to the public at 10:36 am. 
4. ADJOURNMENT
