Acknowledgement 
 
Islands Trust Council respectfully acknowledges that the lands and waters that encompass the Islands Trust Area have been home to 
Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial and that their relationship to these lands and waters continues to this day. Islands Trust Council 
acknowledges that residential schools, forced removal, and colonial laws and restrictions of Indigenous governance and cultural practices have 
displaced and dispossessed Coast Salish peoples and disrupted their relationships with the islands and waters of the Salish Sea. Islands Trust 
Council is committed to reconciliation and to working together to preserve and protect this ecologically, culturally, and spiritually significant 
region in the Salish Sea. 
The Islands Trust Area is located within Coast Salish Territory, in the treaty lands and territories of:
