September 24-26, 2024, Islands Trust Council Meeting Program Announced

 ʷəŋən, METULIYE/Victoria, B.C. – Islands Trust Council invites the public to participate in its next business meeting 
being held in Nanaimo at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, 101 Gordon Street, September 24-26, 2024. There will 
be multiple options for participating in, or viewing the meeting. The public is able to attend in-person and is welcome to 
listen and participate by telephone, join the meeting by computer or smartphone, or simply watch the meeting on a 
computer or smartphone. 
 
Trust Council meets quarterly to make decisions about matters that apply to the Islands Trust Area and Islands Trust 
operations. Trust Council receives, discusses, and makes decisions about policies, finances, and proposed work for the 
coming quarter.  
Featured Sessions 
 
Section 3: Islands Trust Object – Island Trust Council will discuss the Islands Trust Act Section 3 Object.  
 
Provincial Review Request – Islands Trust Council will discuss a potential request to the Province of British Columbia to 
conduct a review of the Islands Trust Act.  
 
Islands Trust Policy Statement Amendment Project (Islands 2050) – As part of Islands Trust Council's session on 
the Policy Statement Amendment Project, the Committee of the Whole will discuss potential revisions to the draft Policy 
Statement. 
 
Strategic Plan – Following strategic planning sessions at the March and June Islands Trust Council meetings, the draft 
2025-2028 Islands Trust Strategic Plan will return to Islands Trust Council for consideration of approval. 
 
Delegations and Public Comment Period – Members of the public are invited to present as a delegation to Trust Council 
or speak at the Public Comments portion of the meeting on matters affecting the Trust Area.   
 
Anyone wishing to present as a delegation is required to submit this form along with a complete presentation by the

input, comments, ideas, and feedback on topics related to the jurisdiction of the Islands Trust.
