Amendments to Trust Council Policy 2.3.1 Council Committee System
RECOMMENDATION: That Trust Council adopt amended Trust Council Policy 2.3.1 Council
Committee System (Attachment 1).
CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER COMMENTS: As part of the Trust Council policy review project, the
proposed amendments will bring the policy up to date with current procedures. The amendments bring
wording for quorum in line with Trust Council Procedure Bylaw 101, include a new section on select
committees and clarify voting provisions for the Trust Council Chair when serving as an ex-officio
member on both standing and select committees. This policy was assessed as a priority for review as
part of the Trust Council policy review project.
1 PURPOSE: To replace outdated wording and processes, clarify details around voting and quorum
with regard to ex-officio membership, include wording to reflect that Trust Council Procedure
Bylaw No. 101 governs committee proceedings as applicable, with Robert’s Rules of Order Newly
Revised to apply in cases not provided for under Bylaw No. 101, and to add a new section on
select committees.
