CALL TO ORDER Acting Chair Trustee O’Sullivan called the meeting to order at 11:02 am. She acknowledged that the meeting was being held in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The following additions to the agenda were presented for consideration: Item 3.2 Trustee’s Summer Office Hours By general consent the agenda was approved as amended. 3. BUSINESS ITEMS 3.1 Bylaw No. 296 Advisory Planning Commission (APC) – Memorandum GB-2017-089 It was MOVED and SECONDED that third reading of Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw No. 296, cited as “Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Advisory Planning Commission Bylaw, 2017”, be rescinded. CARRIED GB-2017-090 It was MOVED and SECONDED that Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw No. 296, cited as “Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Advisory Planning Commission Bylaw, 2017”, Section 2. Appointment of Members; subsection a), is amended by replacing the word “seven” with the word “nine”. CARRIED ADOPTED Gabriola Island ADOPTED 2 Special Local Trust Committee Minutes May 23, 2017 GB-2017-091 It was MOVED and SECONDED that Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw No. 296, cited as “Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Advisory Planning Commission Bylaw, 2017”, be read a third time, as amended. CARRIED GB-2017-092 It was MOVED and SECONDED that Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw No. 296, cited as “Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee Advisory Planning Commission Bylaw, 2017”, be forwarded to the Secretary of the Islands Trust for approval by the Executive Committee. CARRIED 3.2 Trustee’s Summer Office Hours Trustees discussed their offices hours and determined that effective June, 2017 they will attend at the office by appointment only and that they will re-assess their office hours in September, 2017. Trustees request that staff verify if the Trustees office hours are currently being advertised and if so to cancel said advertisements. 4.
