SPLTC – dated Nov 5/13 ADOPTED 1 MINUTES OF THE SOUTH PENDER ISLAND LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE BUSINESS MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2013, AT 10:00 AM AT THE FIRE HALL, 8961 GOWLLAND POINT ROAD, SOUTH PENDER ISLAND, BC PRESENT: Ken Hancock Chair Mike Jones Local Trustee Elizabeth Montague Local Trustee Andrea Pickard Island Planner Kathy Gilbert Recording Secretary There were four (4) members of the public present at the meeting. 1. Call to Order Chair Hancock called the meeting to order at 10:02 am. He acknowledged that the meeting was being held in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations and expressed his appreciation. 2. Approval of Agenda 2.1. Additions / Deletions Three additional items of correspondence were added, circulated to Trustees via email on November 4, 2013, and were distributed by Planner Pickard: 8.3 – Memo from North Pender Island Local Trust Committee re: South Pender Island Local Trust Committee Regarding Canal Erosion and Boat Speed; 8.4 - C. Thorn letter dated October 31, 2013, re: Land Use Bylaw review Process and Community Engagement 8.5 - P. Petrie letter dated October 31, 2013, Land Use Bylaw Review Summary By consensus, the agenda as amended, was adopted. 2.2. Questions from Public on Agenda Items / Town Hall Meeting A member of the public reported that public acquisition of the Anglican Church associated with subdivision application SP-SUB-2011.2 (Airey Group) would be considered at a November 11, 2013 meeting of the Historical Society. Discussion points included a change in staff at the Anglican Diocese, resulting in lack of information on possible costs associated with the potential transfer of the South Pender Island Anglican Church to the Parks and Recreation Commission, Capital Regional District or other public body, as part of the subdivision process.
