As a result, the findings reflect the views of those who chose to participate and should be understood as a rich source of community input, rather than a statistically representative measure of opinion across the entire Islands Trust Area. The survey was completed by 1,244 members of the public and had a completion rate of 99.5%. Paper copies of the survey were available at Islands Trust offices in Victoria, Gabriola Island, and Salt Spring Island, as well as at the Gabriola and Salt Spring Island public libraries.
