NOTICE 
 
MAYNE ISLAND LOCAL TRUST COMMITTEE 
APPLICATION FOR A NEW LOUNGE LICENSE 
 
The Mayne Island Brewery has applied to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) for a new 
Lounge License.  
 
As local government, the Mayne Island Local Trust Committee (LTC) is required to consider the 
application and provide the LCRB with a written recommendation.  
 
In order to receive public comment, and to provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions of the 
applicant, an electronic Public Open House via Zoom https://islandstrust.bc.ca/event/open-house-ma-
lcb-2023-1-mayne-island-brewing-490-fernhill-rd/ has been scheduled from 11 am to 12 pm on February

, 2024.  
The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee at its February 26
th
, 2024 regular LTC meeting will review the 
application and consider public input.  
The property subject to this application is located at 490 Fernhill Road, Mayne Island. The property is 
currently zoned as site specific zone in the Settlement Residential Area. Current zoning supports a 
brewery, tasting room and outdoor patio.   
 
 
 
 
The LTC will need to consider the following: 
 That there are no issues with zoning 
 That the local government is comfortable with the application proceeding 
 That  the  public  have  been  provided  the  opportunity  to  provide  input  on  the  proposed  lounge

The staff report describing the nature of the application can be found on the Islands Trust website  
https://islandstrust.bc.ca/island-planning/mayne/current-applications/ and at the Islands Trust Office, 
200 - 1627 Fort Street, Victoria, B.C. between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday 
inclusive, excluding Statutory Holidays, commencing February 9, 2024 and continuing up to and including 
February 21, 2024. 
 
Written comments concerning the application may be delivered to: 
1. the office of the Islands Trust by mail at #200 - 1627 Fort Street, Victoria, B.C. V8R 1H8, e-mail at 
southinfo@islandstrust.bc.ca, or by Fax (250) 405-5155, prior to 4:30 p.m. February 21, 2024.
